Sarough Sherkat oriental rug 129 x 201 cm

Sarough rugs originate from a small village in Iran’s Markazi Province, an area known for its rug production. These rugs are valued for their consistent quality and their bold, expressive patterns, which are balanced and decorative. The term Sherkat refers to a select group of rugs knotted in specialised workshops as part of a state-controlled initiative aimed at preserving fine, classical Persian rug craftsmanship. Sarough Sherkat rugs are solidly constructed, with a knot density ranging from 250,000 to 350,000 knots per square metre.
