Kashghai oriental rug 123 x 171 cm

Kashghai rugs are hand-knotted wool rugs characterised by deep colours, particularly rich reds, and a dense construction with pronounced ridges on the back. The geometric design is often arranged with medallions along the central axis or placed in the centre and corners, while the remaining field is filled with small geometric motifs. Traditional patterns, such as Harshang, and elements inspired by Persepolis are common, giving the rugs a highly detailed appearance. The knot density ranges from 150,000 to 250,000 per square metre.
