Kerman rugs are hand-knotted with a soft, velvet-like wool pile and a cotton warp and weft. This results in a refined yet durable surface. Known for their delicate colour palettes and finely detailed patterns, the designs may include floral bouquets, adapted Boteh motifs or variations of other classical rug designs. The composition is often finely balanced and decorative, giving an elegant appearance to rugs of all sizes. Knot density ranges from 250,000 to 350,000 knots per square metre.
